About me

janet's portraitMy name is Janet Giessl. I'm a wife, mom, educator, author, artist, spiritual creative, multi-passionate and highly-sensitive person.... Yes, I wear many hats since I'm a Scanner personality.

I only discovered that I'm a Scanner personality and a highly-sensitive person at the age of 34 which has changed my life completely. Nobody, myself included, noticed these special traits because I always did what other people expected me to do. I just adapted to other people. I wasn't myself. But there was always this feeling that something was wrong. Wasn't there more to life? I often asked this myself but I didn't dare to ask others. When I was a child, I already had periods where I felt so depressed and even had longing for death. That's really unusual for a child. During my adolescence I started to feel really worse and I developed one health issue after the other since that time (urticaria, recurrent infections, allergies, food intolerances, histamine intolerance and eczema).

My professional life was not a direct one. I started with a business education, found a job in this field afterwards, quit it after 5 months because it wasn't my thing. Then I began to study Waldorf education after I got to now about this kind of education from my sister. This was the beginning of my life transformation. During the studies I met my husband and fell in love with him. He was and is the first person to really know and understand me. He is my soulmate. We married in 2005 and had our son in 2009 and our daughter in 2012. After finishing my studies to become a Waldorf teacher I didn't find the job I wanted but got one as a teacher assistant at a state school. It wasn't my dream job but it was still a great experience.

After the birth of my son in 2009,  I had been a stay-at-home mom for about one year, then I continued my job as an educator part-time. Since then, I have started my journey looking for opportunities to work on the Internet to add to our family income. I have tried a lot of different opportunities: paid surveys, get paid to programs, microjobs ... nothing really exciting!

Then I stumbled upon a few sites where people made some decent income from writing. As writing has always been my greatest passion since I was able to write, I was thrilled about the idea to do the same.

In 2010 I got started with writing for a German how-to website that paid upfront. I really loved it. Then, in 2011 I stopped writing due to the pregnancy and the birth of my daughter Marissa in 2012.  Instead, I explored the Internet to learn about Internet Marketing, creating websites, blogging and Social Media. I completed a training in web design and Internet Marketing from home in 2014.

In the same year I became seriously sick having stage 0 (carcinoma in situ) cervical cancer. The malignant cells could be removed in two surgeries. Now I have to hope and do everything that it won't come back again.

During the time of my sickness I have unlocked my inner creativity that has remained dormant for so many years and also discovered that I'm a highly sensitive Scanner personality. I have started to doodle, to draw, to create eBooks, to create educational materials, to create digital illustrations and clip arts, to start art journaling and mixed media art.

My sickness was a wake-up call to transform my life and to find my true self. In 2015 I quit my job as a teacher assistant to fully commit to write books, to create art and educational resources.

Many thanks for your interest.
